UX Design Intern
The UX Design Intern at Milwaukee Tool will support the design of user interfaces and experiences for professional power tools and connected products. This role is an opportunity to learn how physical and digital design come together in real-world products. Interns will work alongside UX designers, industrial designers, and engineers to contribute to projects that improve usability, consistency, and brand alignment.What You’ll Experience
Assist in designing physical and digital experiences for embedded systems on tools and related products.
Support the development of consistent on-tool interactions through design patterns, iconography, and visual guidelines.
Partner with design and engineering teams to explore user challenges with a human-centered approach.
Help create interface elements, prototypes, and visual mockups under the guidance of senior designers.
Contribute to design documentation and presentation materials for internal teams.
You'll execute EXTREME OWNERSHIP through these duties and responsibilities:
Participate in cross-functional design discussions and project work.
Assist in user research and usability testing (setup, note-taking, analysis).
Create simple user flows, wireframes, and design mockups.
Explore new design ideas through sketching, prototyping, and iteration.
Document design intent and interface behaviors with guidance from the UX team.
Stay current with UX/UI trends, accessibility, and design systems.
The tools you’ll bring with you:
Currently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual communication and design thinking.
Comfortable working with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping software, and related programs.
Interest in physical/digital product experiences and usability.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
