Summer 2027: Product Safety Engineering Intern

  • Job Description:
    • Product Safety Engineering Intern

Our employees work with a passion to never settle and always improve, enabling us to push the status quo and change the lives of our users. The Product Safety Engineering Intern supports the team by helping prepare hazard reviews, organize supporting information, and document and communicate follow-up items. The intent is not for the intern to own safety decisions, but to help them understand how risks are identified; how mitigations paths are reviewed, aligned on and documented; and how escalations are handled during product development.

You'll execute EXTREME OWNERSHIP through these duties and responsibilities:

      • Overall Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Gather and organize product information, test data, design inputs, and user-facing materials (including technical literature and marketing collateral) for assigned HARs.
      • Prepare HAR materials, including hazard information, action items, meeting notes, and supporting evidence.
      • Attend project, design review, or safety review meetings as assigned and capture clear follow-up items for review.
      • Help clean up and improve team templates, checklists, trackers, examples, and training materials.

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

      • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
      • Sophomore-level coursework is preferred; junior standing or higher is a plus.
      • Interest in product safety, hazard identification, risk reduction, product testing, instructions, markings, and technical documentation.
      • Exposure to drawings, test data, lab practices, product use conditions, or technical documentation is preferred.
      • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions when something is unclear.
      • Able to document observations, summarize findings, and support follow-up with project teams.
      • Able to analyze and summarize test data using Microsoft Excel.
      • Interest in Milwaukee Tool products, how they are used in the field, and how safety work helps protect the end user.

      Our Perks and Benefits:

      • 11-Week Paid Internship

      • Summer Housing Support

      • Associate Discount

      • Generous 401 (K) savings plan.
