      Additive Machinist Apprentice

We work together with our users through observation, interviews, and field research, making them part of the solution process. Our team defines critical benefits to our end users, constructs prototypes, and evaluates product designs considering unmet user needs, durability, materials, and manufacturing processes. Working cross functionally, we perform a wide variety of engineering and design tasks including translating user observations to insights, employing proven ideation techniques, 3D modeling and mathematical simulation, and rapid prototype development.

      The TOOLS you’ll need to have: 

      • You will be provided a mentor that will provide on the job training in both 3D Printing and CNC Machining 

      • You will be expected to complete a minimum of 576 hours of Technical School Training  

      • Opportunities to learn CAD / CAM, CNC Mills, Turning Centers, 5 Axis Mill Turning, Wire or Sinker EDM – SLS, SLA, FDM, Polyjet & DMLS 3D Printing equipment programing will be provided 

      • The training requirement timeline for this apprenticeship is 10,400 hours, see outline  

      • The primary role of this position is to program and machine 3D Printed components using the latest software and equipment, in support of New Product Development Teams.     

      • Work directly from CAD Models to produce accurate 3D Printed or machined components in a variety of polymers and metals.  

      • Duties to include machinery setup, post processing, maintaining a clean work environment, ordering of raw materials, and managing new and completed work requests. 

      • This position requires a highly motivated, organized individual with good communication skills who will communicate frequently with the New Product Development Teams. 

      • Maintain schedules in conjunction with safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. 

       

      What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:  

      • Requires a high school education or equivalent, with a desire to learn  

      • A strong mechanical aptitude is a must 

      • Have a concerted interest in 3D Printing and Machining
