Regulatory Engineering Intern

The Regulatory Engineering Intern supports the team by helping organize compliance documentation, maintain certification trackers, coordinate samples for agency or lab work, and research certification requirements. The intent is not for the intern to own regulatory decisions, but to help them understand how certification requirements are identified, how compliance evidence is gathered, and how regulatory issues are supported through product development.
You'll execute EXTREME OWNERSHIP through these duties and responsibilities:
Overall Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize certification documentation, test reports, product labels, declarations, agency records, and supporting project information.
- Help coordinate test samples for agency or lab work, including requests, labeling, tracking, shipment support, receipt confirmation, and status updates.
- Research standards, certification requirements, agency programs, and market access needs with Regulatory Engineer guidance.
- Help clean up and improve regulatory tools, checklists, templates, filing practices, and documentation-control practices.
The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Sophomore-level coursework is preferred; junior standing or higher is a plus.
- Interest in regulatory compliance, product certification, lab testing, instructions, markings, and technical documentation.
- Exposure to engineering documentation, test reports, product labeling, compliance records, data tracking, or technical project coordination is preferred.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage follow-up across multiple open items.
- Able to provide clear status updates, document requests, meeting notes, and support follow-up with project teams.
- Able to analyze and summarize test data using Microsoft Excel.
- Interest in Milwaukee Tool products, how they are certified for different markets, and how regulatory work supports product launches.
