Firmware Engineering Intern

We work together with our users through observation, interviews, and field research, making them part of the solution process. Our team defines critical benefits to our end users, constructs prototypes, and evaluates product designs considering unmet user needs, durability, materials, and manufacturing processes. Working cross functionally, we perform a wide variety of engineering and design tasks including translating user observations to insights, employing proven ideation techniques, 3D modeling and mathematical simulation, and rapid prototype development.

You’ll execute EXTREME OWNERSHIP through these duties and responsibilities:
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads and Hardware-In-the-Loop test equipment to validate control algorithms.
- Read and interpret schematics with basic understanding of digital circuits to understand the interaction between firmware and electronics.
- Conduct experiments, perform simulations and draw concise, logical conclusions by analyzing data.
- Track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and Milwaukee Tool’s processes.
The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Exposure to closed loop control theory.
- Exposure to modeling and simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, exercising independent judgement, and working well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with strong work ethic.
- A general understanding of control engineering concepts.
- A general understanding of modeling and simulations tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
